Late-night Fife police chase drama

Two people were arrested after a police chase between Buckhaven and Kirkcaldy late on Tuesday night.

The drama began at around 11pm when police attended an address in West High Street, Buckhaven.

A male driver and his female passenger took off in a white Volkswagen Bora and refused to stop for officers.

A police spokesman said a bus stop and two stationery vehicles were struck by the car over the course of the subsequent pursuit.

Witnesses reported seeing the car flying through the Wemyss villages pursued by up to six police vehicles.

The car was eventually brought to a stop in Nicol Street, Kirkcaldy, and the man and woman were arrested.
