Hundreds of people braved the Fife coast to take part in the eagerly awaited Black Rock 5 race in Kinghorn.
The unique road and beach race has been run annually since 1987 and always attracts a large crowd, with the event timed to coincide with a sufficiently low tide to enable runners to pass behind the Black Rock which is about half a mile off Burntisland.
While the inaugural Bill Tulloch award was presented to the first runner to the Black Rock, all over 18s who completed the race were also treated to a free bottle of beer at the finish line.
