More than 500 people dressed in white t-shirts ran on a St Andrews beach to recreate a famous movie scene. The annual Chariots of Fire race celebrates the classic film of the same name, the opening moments of which were film on the West Sands. Before yesterday’s event the race, in its sixth year, had raised almost £10,000 for Worldwide Cancer Research, a charity based in the town.
