Cyclists and pedestrians are being warned to use the Forth Road Bridge’s west footpath on Sunday as the east path will be closed.
Access to the west footpath is via the subway on the south side and steps under the abutment on the north side.
Cyclists needing help in transporting bicycles can contact bridge control on 0131 319 3083 for help.
One footpath on the bridge is routinely closed to the public for safety to keep maintenance vehicles and plant separate from cyclists and pedestrians.
Wherever possible the west footpath is used for maintenance access as the east footpath forms part of the national cycle network, however on Sunday staff will require access to the east side of the bridge.
These arrangements will be in place from midnight on Saturday until midnight on Sunday, when the east footpath will reopen.
