A Fife teen who died after being struck by a taxi has been described as a “caring, fun-loving son, grandson and brother” in a tribute by his heartbroken family.
James Morrison, 15, suffered serious injuries following the collision on Saturday, June 16 at around 11.45pm.
Police formally named him as the victim on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the B925 near Crossgates but the teenager was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
His family have issued heartfelt tributes for the Cowdenbeath resident who was described by his sister Tammi as a “wee radge”.
A statement read: “James was a caring fun-loving son, grandson and brother who would do anything for anybody. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
“The family wish to express their thanks for the messages they have received and they wish to be left to come to terms with their loss.”
His sister added: “James was a wee radge and my wee best pal from birth. A bond that can’t be broken. I will love and miss him every day.”
The driver and passengers of the Renault Trafic MPV taxi were uninjured.
The road was closed for around six hours for examinations and inquiries into the collision are on-going.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair from Fife’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family of James Morrison at this time and we are continuing with our investigation to establish exactly what has happened.
“I would urge any motorists or members of the public who were in the area of the B925 on Saturday evening and witnessed the collision to contact police immediately if they have not already done so.
“Similarly, if you believe you have any other information relevant to this inquiry then please also get in touch.”
