A man has died following a single vehicle crash on the A911 between Glenrothes and Windygates.
Officers were called to the scene at 3.40am on Monday following reports a car had left the road.
The road is currently closed to allow for accident investigation work.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and bus services have also been disrupted.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife can confirm that the A911 Windygates to Glenrothes road is currently closed after a road traffic collision where a man sadly died.
“Officers were called at 3.40am to the one-car collision.
“The road will be closed for the next few hours to allow investigations to take place.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances.”
Polce Scotland have CLOSED the A911 between Milton and Windygates till at least 12 noon due to a serious RTA, this means Milton of Balgonie cannot be served until further notice of this road re-opening. I will update as and when I receive info apologies
