Nine flood warnings have been issued for Perthshire in response to heavy rain and melting snow.
A fresh deluge is expected in the region with water levelson the rivers Tay, Tummel and Earn – and their tributaries – all said to be rising in response to the conditions on Friday.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) says “heavy and persistent rain” will combine with snow melt on Friday, putting land surrounding the watercourses at risk.
The nine flood warnings in place for Perthshire are:
- Upper Tay
- Pitlochry to Ballinluig
- Logierait to Jubilee Bridge
- Innerpeffray to Bridge of Earn
- Glen Lyon
- Crieff to Innerpeffray
- Carse of Lennoch to Lochlane
- Ballinluig to Logierait
- Callander
A flood alert also remains in place for the whole of Tayside.
It comes after the Met Office issued separate yellow weather warnings for snow, rain and wind with a third storm of 2020 expected to batter Scotland at the weekend.
The first warning for heavy rain will be in effect in parts of Perthshire on Friday. The second for strong winds of up to 75mph across the whole of Scotland on Saturday.
A final warning for snow and ice is covering much of Perthshire on Saturday, valid between 3am to 9pm.
Parts of Tayside and Fife were hit badly by Storm Dennis last weekend and Storm Ciara the one previous.
