The Creiff Highland Gathering has been cancelled due to coronavirus.
The event was set to celebrate its 150th anniversary at Market Park in the Perthshire town over the weekend of August 15 and 16 with thousands of visitors expected to travel to one of Scotland’s largest Highland Games.
A spokesperson for the event said: “It is with a heavy heart and huge sense of disappointment that the Board of Directors of Crieff Highland Gathering have taken the decision not to hold this year’s Music Fest or Games due to take place on the 15 and 16 of August.
“We have said all along that our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone during the weekend and in light of all the information that is now available to us we feel we have little option but to cancel.”
People who have purchased tickets for the games through Eventbrite will have their refunds processed.
