Investigations into the death of two revellers at T in the Park must be concluded swiftly, a senior MSP has said.
Mid Scotland and Fife representative Murdo Fraser said he was shocked to learn of the tragic turn of events at Strathallan.
Speaking after organiser issued a warning over the use of drugs at the site, Mr Fraser said: “The news of two deaths at T in the Park is a tragedy.
“My thoughts are with their family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time.
“The police must act fast to establish a cause of death and I would hope that their investigation reports its findings quickly. ”
With tens of thousands set to attend the festival, Mr Fraser said he hoped the organisers would do everything in their power to ensure there are no further tragedies.
“Safety is paramount at a large event like this,” the MSP continued.
“I hope that the concert organisers are fully prepared for the large number of visitors expected at the weekend.”
A drug amnesty announced on Friday, with police insisting revellers could hand in illicit substances without fear of prosecution.
