An exclusive £12,000 bottle of whisky was among a haul stolen from one of Scotland’s best known distilleries.
Discerning thieves broke into the Tullibardine Distillery in Blackford at the weekend and made off with seven bottles.
A short time later, a man was seen struggling down the side of the A9, heavily weighted down by two bags.
Police Scotland said the shop at the distillery had been targeted some time between 5pm on Saturday and 9.25am on Sunday.
In total around £14,000 of whisky was stolen, including the exclusive malt, together with two glasses.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area and may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
They are particularly keen to trace the man seen walking by the side of the A9 at Blackford at around 9.55pm on Saturday night.
He is thought to have been around 25 to 35 and was of medium build. At the time he was wearing a red top, light coloured shorts and “worker” boots.
Anyone who saw this man or anyone who has information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
