The headteacher of Perth Grammar School has told of her shock at hearing the news of pupil Kathleen Harkin’s death.
The popular teenager was last seen in North Muirton on Saturday night and her body was pulled from the Tay near St Madoes on Monday afternoon.
Fiona Robertson, Head Teacher at Perth Grammar School, said: “The school community is deeply shocked and saddened by the news of Kathleen’s death.
“She was a well-liked, happy girl who always had a smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her; young people and staff alike.
“Support will be available to those who need it in the coming weeks as we all come to terms with this tragic loss.”
Support for pupils affected by the tragedy will remain available from 12pm to 2pm for the remainder of this week, and will be based in the school library.
