An elderly woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a road accident between Gannochy and Scone.
The 80-year-old was on foot when she was involved in the accident with a green Land Rover towing a trailer on the A94 at about 12.40pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The injured woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed in both directions while an accident investigation took place but reopened shortly after 4pm.
The closure caused major tailbacks through the Bridgend and Gannochy areas of Perth, with buses being diverted through Old Scone.
A motorist, who had driven his vehicle in the Gannochy area around the time of the accident, said there had been problems with a low set sun.
A police spokesman said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or has any information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
