A large section of Crieff town centre has been cordoned-off due to safety fears over the Drummond Arms Hotel.
Police Scotland has thrown-up an exclusion zone around the decaying building, blocking part of Hill Street, after reports that glass had showered the street.
It is thought that upper floor windows have become loose and there are concerns more debris could fall.
Investigations will be carried out by Police Scotland and others throughout the day.
Efforts are continuing to find a possible solution to the empty hotel, about which safety concerns have been raised for some time.
The building has deteriorated since its closure, with Crieff Community Trust among those fighting to find a new use for it.
Affordable housing is one option, though the condition of the hotel makes planning for its future more difficult every year.
