A knifeman has been locked up over a frenzied murder bid at a Perthshire town.
James Irvine was stabbed in the chest and left for dead during the terrifying blade attack in Auchterarder.
His sister Marion was knifed in the hand, while friend Stewart Henderson was slashed on the shoulder.
Stephen Bertie, 30, admitted he tried to kill Mr Irvine during the bloody fracas in August last year.
He received an extended nine year sentence, meaning he will serve at least six years behind bars and will be supervised for three years after his release.
Ms Irvine, who said she was left suffering depression following the attack, said Bertie had torn her family apart.
