VIDEO: ‘It was actually overtaking cars’ – Moment motorist drove wrong way up M90 near Perth captured

This is the moment a motorist was spotted driving the wrong way up one of the busiest roads in Perthshire.

George Carr of Dundee was travelling along the M90 between the Broxden Roundabout and Friarton Bridge when he encountered the small blue car heading up it in the wrong direction.

He said the vehicle appeared to be travelling at the speed limit and was “actually overtaking cars” on the wrong side of the road.

Mr Carr, who captured the moment on his dashcam, added: “I slowed down to 30mph as the car approached about 70mph. It was actually overtaking the cars on the correct side of the road.”

On Thursday police said they traced a motorist who had been spotted driving the wrong way down the M90 between Friarton Bridge and Broxden.

The force said “appropriate action was taken” against the driver.

On Saturday, the police were unable to shed light on whether anyone has been charged following the incident.
