Britain’s most northerly racecourse is being prepped for its new season.
The three-day Perth Festival, now in its 30th year, kicks off today with £304,000 of prize money up for grabs.

The extravaganza is expected to attract thousands of spectators, as well as some of the country’s best known jockeys, trainers and owners.

The first race will be the EBF Stallions Gold Castle National Hunt Novices Hurdle, over three miles.
