Firefighters raced to a house in Methven this morning after a blaze broke out in the building’s kitchen.
Scottish Fire and Rescue team received the call at 8.51am on Wednesday and sent three appliances, two from Perth and one from Auchterarder to the home, on Sauchob Crescent.
The fire started in the semi-detached two-storey property’s ground floor kitchen, and SFRS crews used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to tackle the flames.
It is understood that all occupants were out of the building and firefighters had doused the flames by just after 11am.
Police officers attended to divert traffic away from the incident.
Nobody was injured as the elderly woman who lives at the property had left the building before the firefighters arrived.
Firefighters remained at the scene into the afternoon to cut through the flooring and check there were no remnants of the blaze still smouldering beneath the kitchen.
