Police and firefighters have been called to a crash on the busiest road between Perth and Dundee.
A crane being transported on a low-loader struck the flyover at St Madoes.
It is feared the smash may have caused serious damage to the bridge and a structural engineer has been called out to assess its safety.
A water main has also been hit, leaving residents in the area without water.
Scottish Water said it had an engineer on site investigating the loss of supply.
The eastbound carriageway of the A90 has been closed since the incident occurred around 4.40pm.
No one in the truck or another vehicle involved in the collision is believed to have been hurt.
The low loader and crane remain on the carriage, around 90ft east of the flyover.
Traffic Scotland said vehicles were “at a stand” on the dual carriageway for as far back as Kinfauns, with a diversion put in place.
