A block of flats in the centre of Perth was evacuated when fire broke out.
Some 30 residents were escorted from the eight-storey building in Pomarium Street as firefighters tackled the blaze in Pomarium Street.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation but it was believed no one was hurt in the incident which occurred around 9.10pm on Sunday.
Some seven appliances including a height unit were dispatched by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters could be seen on the cherry-picker extended to the top of the building.
The nearby bus station was closed and used as a staging point for paramedics and response teams.
A spokeswoman for fire service said at 11pm that the incident was ongoing and six appliances remained on scene.
Police also attended and a spokesman for the force said the fire had been put out.
He said: “There was a fire in Pomarium Street. It has been extinguished but it is still being dealt with.
“There looks to be no injuries.
“Persons were evacuated as a precaution.”
It is understood that residents have been accommodated in the Queens Hotel, in Leonard Street.
