A busy bridge on the edge of Perth has been closed after being struck by a vehicle.
Perth and Kinross Council closed the Lade Bridge in Ruthvenfield earlier today after it took “substantial damage” when it was hit by a vehicle.
A spokesperson said: “Perth and Kinross Council is satisfied that there is a likelihood of danger to the public due to a bridge strike causing substantial damage to the Lade Bridge.
“[The council] hereby prohibit all vehicular traffic on the length of carriageway.
“The order will prohibit traffic on the U44 Main Road, Ruthvenfield from its junction with the U45 near Grey Row to its junction with the private access leading to the property known as Ruthven Farm, a distance of 56.49 metres.”
