A dog walker has been assaulted at a well known Perthshire landmark.
The attack happened at Cargill’s Leap, near Blairgowrie, just after 2pm on Sunday.
The man was walking his whippet along the riverside trail at the time, police said.
Cargill’s Leap is famous locally as the spot where Rattray Covenanter Donald Cargill jumped across the River Ericht, while being pursued by dragoons in 1679.
There is an information board and viewing platform for visitors.
Investigators have appealed for any witnesses to call 101 or freephone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting case number CR/6623/20.
