Perth is to lose more than 100 jobs as the makers of the Famous Grouse pull out of the city.
Edrington Group is set to close its Perthshire management office as it prepares for a move to a new consolidated headquarters site in Glasgow.
The company currently operates joint headquarters in the two cities.
The Perthshire office houses a mix of staff involved in finance, marketing and other management functions as well as others directly involved in the premium and regional power brand operations.
The West Kinfauns site was established by Edrington which also owns the Macallan, Cutty Sark and Highland Park brands – in 1996.
It assumed ownership of the Famous Grouse brand – which is produced at Glenturret Distillery at Crieff and is synonymous with the area having first been produced by Matthew Gloag & Son in 1896 – following the acquisition of Highland Distillers in 1999.
A spokesman today said a total of 13 out of 103 jobs at West Kinfauns were to be made redundant.
Management briefed staff this morning and a consultation will now be held with the remaining 90 staff in Perth over potential redeployment opportunities to the new headquarters site.
The spokesperson said it was the company’s desire for impacted staff in Perth to transfer to its new Glasgow HQ.
No site has yet been chosen for the new headquarters building, although it is understood that a number are under consideration.
