A remote Perthshire shop has praised its community for “working together”.
The Kirkmichael Village shop, the only one within walking distance for residents, has highlighted the village’s community spirit during the pandemic.
Director John Milne said: “Largely due to the resilience of country people the crisis has not so far affected our stock levels in the way it has those of supermarkets.
“We even had toilet rolls available when the nearest Tesco was sold out.
“The fact that staff and local customers all know each other is a big factor in promoting sensible buying and sharing resources.
“Once again this is an example of a community working together.”
Meanwhile, the Scone Fish and Chip Shop has been distributing potatoes to elderly residents.
A post on social media read: “We have decided to give out free potatoes to elderly throughout this period of time.
“You can just come down to the shop and ask one of our lovely staff to get you some fresh potatoes.”
