Rewind Festival has announced the line-up and dates for its 10-year-anniversary at Scone Palace after the 80s music extravaganza was cancelled this summer.
The 2021 edition will see many of the acts scheduled for this summer’s gig return with headliners Wet Wet Wet, Bananarama, Billy Ocean and Jimmy Sommerville all set to take the stage.
One noticeable absence from this year’s cancelled event is Nick Heyward, who has been replaced on the bill by Soft Cell’s Marc Almond.
Marc said: “I am very excited to be playing all three Rewind Festivals in 2021.
“I’ve played Rewind many times before the experience has always been amazing.
“I really love the passion and excitement of the Rewind audiences. Get those Pink Flamingos at the ready and see you in 2021.”
Rewind Festival will be held at Scone Palace from July 23 to 25 2021 after organisers cancelled this summer’s event earlier this month due to coronvirus.
A statement by the organisers said: “We are saddened to announce that Rewind Scotland, Rewind North, and Rewind South will no longer take place this year.
“The health and safety of all Rewinders, the artists, staff and community will always be our top priority, and it became clear that rescheduling the festivals was unavoidable.
“We have spoken with all the artists involved and are so grateful to them and the venues, and we are excited to announce that we will be rescheduling the dates to next year.”
Other artists confirmed for the anniversary festival include Grandmaster Flash, Hue and Cry and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey.
The organisers said tickets for this year’s event were valid for next summer.
They said: “Your tickets, parking, glamping, moorings, VIP, when nature calls, campervans, caravans etc will all be valid for these new dates.
“We are working closely with our ticketing partners and they will be in touch with you very soon by email.
“Please only contact them if you have not been contacted after seven working days as they are very busy at this time.
“We look forward to seeing you all in 2021. For now, stay safe, stay home and look after each other.”
