A Perthshire charity has launched its Send a Smile scheme, which encourages members of the public to submit messages of support and gratitude to key workers.
Members of the public can send cards or letters to Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service to distribute to key and essential service workers, such as police officers, NHS staff, care home staff, and supermarket staff.
PKAVS partnership and engagement manager, Lori Hughes said: “Send a Smile is all about showing these people how much we appreciate everything they are doing during the current crisis to make everyone’s lives operate as smoothly as possible.
“The hope is that these messages will make key workers from across sectors smile, feel appreciated and provide a much needed boost of positivity to see them through the tough weeks which lie ahead.
“Everyone has it within them to make someone else smile. One wee message or picture could be all it takes to make someone else’s day.”
She added: “This is something everyone can get involved with, from children colouring in to individuals isolated in their homes.
“As a mum of two young kids, I am always trying to think of ways to keep them entertained.
“We will be joining in. What better way to pass our time than by making someone else smile, feel valued and appreciated. ”
Cards and letters should be sent to FREEPOST – PKAVS. No stamp or address is required.
