Recycling centres across Perth and Kinross are being prepared for reopening from June 1 for domestic waste.
During the first phase, only bagged domestic waste will be accepted and residents will be limited to disposing a maximum of six bags per vehicle per day.
Commercial waste and recycling will have to wait until the expansion of reopening during phase two and vans and trailers will not be permitted.
Head of Environmental and Consumer Services at Perth and Kinross Council, Mark Butterworth urged people to act responsibly to ensure the safety of the public and staff.
“People visiting centres can expect some queuing and we would ask them to only use the recycling centres if absolutely necessary,” he said.
“We understand that people will want to dispose of any accumulated waste as quickly as possible, but if everyone was to try to do this all at the same time, our staff will not be able to cope.
“Perth and Kinross residents have shown our staff tremendous support during the lockdown and we expect this will continue when our centres reopen.”
Only one person per vehicle will be permitted to exit the vehicle to dispose of waste. Site attendants are not permitted to assist with lifting and carrying bags at this time.
Normal opening hours will apply to all recycling centres.
