A 57-year-old man has been hospitalised following a serious assault at a Perthshire beauty spot in the early hours of this morning.
The victim was attacked at around 3.30am on Sunday at Clunie Loch near Blairgowrie.
The incident occurred between the A923 and the road at the north bank of the loch.
The man was rushed to Ninewells Hospital Dundee with serious injuries and police have now launched an appeal for witnesses.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Anyone who can help with our investigation into what happened is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0705 of 31/05/20.”
