A Perth homeless charity has received a donation from supermarket staff who wanted to share their bonuses with people in greater need.
Workers at Lidl on the city’s Riggs Road were given vouchers as recognition of their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic and chose to pass some of them on to the Churches Action for the Homeless (CATH) day centre.
CATH development worker Debbie Hay and colleague Pam Lindsay collected the food donations yesterday morning from the store.
Debbie said: “We are all extremely grateful and humbled by the unexpected kindness from all the staff at Perth Lidl.
“When so many people are struggling themselves in these challenging times, it shows that humanity is good and caring.”
Pam said Lidl staff had been supporting the group’s work through their neighbourly giving scheme for more than a year and the additional donations were very welcome.
