A Blairgowrie woman has embarked on a gruelling walking challenge to raise funds for underprivileged children in one of the world’s poorest countries.
Clare Cunningham, 21, is walking a total of 500km – just over 310 miles – throughout June.
Her sponsored walk will raise money for Steka Skills, which supports street children in Malawi.
Clare decided to support the cause after meeting charity co-founder Godknows Maseko during a trip to the country at the start of the year.
Lockdown restrictions mean Clare is sticking to the five-mile limit, with daily walks to and from her home. The 500km represents the distance Maseko walked from Blantyre to Malawi to discuss the plight of youngsters with government officials.
