A Perth schoolgirl smashed her lockdown reading target, while raising money for Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park.
Kaylie Laing was challenged to read 25 books by her teacher at Goodlyburn Primary. The eight-year-old quickly achieved her goal, reading 30 books in a week.
Asked to set her own target, Kaylie decided to plough through 100 books and collect donations for the two animal attractions that are close to her heart.
Kaylie and her teacher kept track of her reading using Renaissance’s Accelerated Reader software.
Mum Claire said: “Kaylie is animal obsessed, so when she saw her favourite zoo and wildlife park needed donations, she wanted to do all she could to help.”
The youngster made £150 in donations.
