Police believe a series of after dark break-ins across Kinross could be connected.
Thieves targeted four properties in the town over the weekend, including the soon-to-be demolished Windlestrae Hotel.
Two domestic garages were broken into in Station Road. The first was raided sometime between 8pm on Friday and 12pm the following day.
The second incident happened between 10.35pm on Saturday and 7am Sunday. A large amount of tools was carried off on both occassions.
Investigators say Kinross Tennis Club, also on Station Road, was broken into between 9.30pm on Friday and 8.30am.
The Windlestrae Hotel, which is earmarked for demolition to pave the way for retirement homes, was targeted at around 11.20pm on Friday.
Nothing was taken from the hotel nor the tennis club.
Kinross-based Police Constable Kevin Lynch said: “Our enquiries into each of these incidents are ongoing and we are treating them as linked.
“I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the area on Friday evening into Saturday morning to let us know, even if it didn’t seem notable at the time.”
Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting case number 0974 of June 20, or freephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
