A heartbroken Fife family has paid tribute to their 10-year-old son who died after getting into difficulties at a Perthshire loch.
Emergency services were scrambled to Loch Labnaig, near Callander, on Wednesday evening.
The boy has been named as Michael Heeps, from High Valleyfield.
Police Scotland said the death is being treated as “unexplained” and inquiries were ongoing.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
In a statement issued through Police Scotland, the family said: “He was a much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.”
