The date of the permanent closure of a Crieff’s Clydesdale bank branch has been confirmed as September 2.
Its closure was postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Liz Smith MSP, who represents the Mid Scotland and Fife region described the move as “bitterly disappointing”, adding it would impact local businesses in the town.
She said: “Notwithstanding the six-month delay as a result of Covid 19, this is yet another hard knock to the town of Crieff where so many local businesses are already struggling to survive.
“Local people continue to be very upset by this move especially when the bank made little effort to engage with the local community and to explain what additional support can be provided to its customers.”
She added: “With other bank closures in Comrie, Auchterarder and Kinross, this is very tough news.”
Clydesdale Bank did not respond to requests for comment.
