A man has been arrested after armed police swooped on a Perth housing estate.
Officers were scrambled to the city’s Newhouse Road on Saturday evening, after reports of a man armed with a weapon.
At the height of the incident, there were nine police vehicles parked on the street.
A force spokesman said: “Police were called to a report of a man in possession of a weapon on Newhouse Road, Perth around 5.50pm on Saturday.
“A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection. The incident was contained and there was no threat to the wider public.”
