Two men are said to have been caught driving at more than 110mph on one of Perthshire’s busiest roads.
The drivers, aged 50 and 33, were stopped by officers on the M90 Perth to Edinburgh road – between the Fair City and Kelty – for allegedly speeding on the route at the weekend.
Both drivers have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Greg Burns, of Tayside Police Division’s Road Policing Unit, said there was an increase in speeding on the M90 at the weekend.
He added: “Officers routinely patrol the M90 in both marked and unmarked cars to detect offences and, over the past few days, have seen an increase in the number of vehicles driving over the speed limit.
“Speeding is a major contributory factor to serious and fatal collisions. People who speed not only put themselves at risk, but also other members of the public.
“We will continue to carry out targeted patrols across the region and will carry out enforcement action when needed.”
