The number of positive coronavirus cases linked to a Perthshire chicken factory has risen to 17.
All 900 staff at the 2 Sisters plant in Coupar Angus have been ordered to self-isolate, while the premises will remain shut until the end of the month.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon described it as a “complex and potentially significant cluster” and said she could not rule out a local lockdown if cases continue to rise.
The military has set up a mobile testing unit in the grounds of the factory so that all employees can be assessed.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed at her Wednesday afternoon briefing that the number of cases had risen from 10 on Tuesday night to 17.
The figure includes 15 staff and two members of the community.
