Police are hunting a failed thief who tried to punch and then rob a man on a Perth crossing.
The would-be robber left empty-handed following the incident on the Queen’s Bridge at about 11.20pm on Saturday, August 22.
A man was walking on the crossing when he was approached by another male, said to be about 20-years-old, who attempted to punch him and steal his bag.
However the victim managed to keep hold of it.
The would-be thief returned to a group of six people he was with. They were seen standing at Norrie Millar Walk prior to the incident.
They were last spotted on South Street at about 11.35pm.
The perpetrator is described as being white, about 6ft tall, and with short, brown hair.
He was wearing a dark jacket and similar-coloured trousers.
A Tayside Police Division statement reads: “The incident was captured on CCTV and we have also spoken with another witness, however we would still like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen part of the incident, or has knowledge of the group of individuals mentioned.
“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.
“Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 5009 of August 22.”
