A Perth city centre pub has temporarily closed its doors after a friend of a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Some employees at The Tavern bar are now in self-isolation, while the property is being given a deep clean.
Customers who were at the South Street establishment on Friday, when the member of waiting staff who may be affected was last working, are expected to be contacted by NHS Tayside.
A statement posted by The Tavern on social media said: “We have immediately closed the Tavern as a friend of one of our waiting staff has tested positive for Covid.
“The staff member did work last Friday so as a precaution all staff working that day are self-isolating and/or being tested.”
The statement continues: “We are working with NHS track and trace and if you were in on Friday you may well be contacted.
“All procedures within the bar have been found to be correct and aligned with guidance issued.”
The spokesperson added: “The incidence originated from outwith the premises, nevertheless it’s best to be safe. The whole building its being fully sanitised ready for reopening.”
