Three people have been injured following a crash involving four vehicles on one of Tayside’s busiest roads on Monday.
Police asked motorists to avoid the northbound A9 Perth to Inverness road following the incident just before the Inveralmond Roundabout at about 12.40pm.
One lane was closed as a result of the incident, which affected the route for about two hours.
Four cars are said to have been involved in the collision.
Traffic was able to pass the scene of the incident, however debris could be seen strewn across the side of the busy A9.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene.
Three people were taken to hospital following the incident. The severity of their injuries is not yet known.
A spokesman for the force said: “We were called around 12.40pm to the A9 near the Inveralmond Roundabout following a four-vehicle crash.”
Police later updated on social media: “The A9 northbound at Inveralmond has been fully re-opened following the earlier collision.
“Three people have been taken to hospital with what appear at this time to be non life-threatening injuries. Thanks to everyone held up or otherwise affected for your patience.”
