Great British Bake Off star Flora Shedden will be making a rare public appearance near her home town next month.
The 20-year-old, who was a finalist on last year’s hotly contest BBC contest, will return to her old stomping ground for a talk at Birnam Arts Centre.
She will be interviewed for the one-off event by local author Ann Lindsay.
A spokesman for the centre said: “The show promises to be full of interesting facts and anecdotes behind the story of Flora’s sudden rise to fame and we’ll also get to hear some of the behind-the-scenes gossip of proceedings in the Bake Off tent.”
Flora and Ann are both giving their time free of charge and the evening will raise funds for the Birnam Arts group and help pay for new auditorium chairs.
There will also be a raffle with a two-tier sponge cake, made by Flora, as the top prize.
Flora recently revealed she had been forced to delay her return to studies at St Andrews University because of a growing workload.
As well as working on her book – to be published next year – she has been unveiled as the face of Bridge of Allan-based Graham’s Dairy.
The Birnam talk, titled Sweet Success, Secrets and Behind the Scenes, will be held on Thursday May 12 from 7.30pm.
