A food share service which opened in Perth to help vulnerable families has been inundated with offers of support.
More than 100 people have signed up for the Perth South Community Food Share hub, since its launch at Moncrieffe Community Centre earlier this summer.
The project, which grew out of lockdown initiatives led by Letham4All, has expanded with a new display fridge, paid for with cash from the Covid-19 Supporting Communities Fund.
Campaigner Liz Barrett, who set up shop in July, said: “We’ve had a tremendous response. Over 100 people have signed up, with many regulars and a great team of volunteers keen to continue this initiative.”
The scheme, which runs from 11am to 1pm on Thursdays to Saturdays, has also been backed by the South Perth Community Garden and the Mustard Seed Cafe.
