Organisers of the Enchanted Forest will light up the skies this weekend on what would have been the start of the 2020 event.
Held annually in Pitlochry, this year’s show was cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Enchanted Forest Community Trust will mark the start of what should have been the 19th event from Friday until Sunday.
A nightly laser show over the skies of Pitlochry will be seen from local residents’ windows and gardens.
Organisers say the “beacon of hope” will signal, despite this year’s cancellation, there are big plans in place for next year’s 20th anniversary event.
Chairman of The Enchanted Forest, Keith Moncrieff said: “Whilst we totally understand the reasons, we are extremely disappointed that The Enchanted Forest is not able to run this year.
“I know so many people will be feeling the loss of the event, in many ways.
“For this reason, we have decided to mark what would have been the start of the event on 2 October with a fantastic laser show, which will run every night over what would have been our opening weekend.”
He added: “We are determined that for our 20th anniversary show, the lights will shine.”
