A murder probe has been launched after a woman was found knifed to death and rolled up in a carpet at her Perth flat.
Emergency services made the shock discovery when they were called to the 36-year-old’s home on Dunkeld Road on Thursday night.
Police remained at the scene throughout Friday as detectives tried to piece together her final movements.
It is understood a man who is known to the victim has been helping investigators with their inquiries.
The dead woman has been named locally as Louise O’Brien, who stayed on her own in a first floor flat at the southern end of Dunkeld Road, opposite St Catherine’s Leisure Park.
Louise was found after a member of the public raised the alarm to police at their Perth HQ across the street.
A police spokeswoman said that inquiries were at an early stage.
“Police Scotland are investigating the death of a woman in Perth,” she said.
“Police attended at a property in Dunkeld Road at around 9pm.”
The spokeswoman added: “The death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
