More than £5,000 was raised by the 170 plus cyclists who took part in Saturday’s Tayside Challenge Cycling Sportive .
Organised jointly by the Rotary Club of Perth Kinnoull and Malawi Fruits, a Scottish-based charity, around two thirds of the participants opted to ride the 81 mile route which took them from and back to Pitcairngreen via Dunkeld, Strathtay,Fortingall, Kenmore, Glen Quaich, Amulree and the Sma’ Glen.
The shorter 46 mile route went directly from Dunkeld to Amulree then joined the final stages of the longer route to the finish.
The full amount of each cyclist’s entry fee will be donated to charity thanks to support given by Highland Spring, Tower Bakery, Bookers Cash & Carry and Tunnocks .
