A 15-year-old schoolboy has been left with serious injuries after allegedly being stabbed by another teenager on Halloween.
The fourth-year pupil was stabbed in the leg and back during the incident on Saturday night and was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
A 16-year-old youth has been arrested in connection with the incident close to Moncrieffe Island in Perth city centre shortly after 8pm on 31 October.
An eye witness said a group of older teens were attacking one boy when the 15-year-old tried to step in to break up the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report that a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed following a disturbance near Moncreiffe Island, Tay Street, Perth.
“The incident happened around 8.20pm on Saturday, 31 October.
“The 15-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital with what appeared to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries. A 16-year-old boy was arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
