The new chairman of Perth Civic Trust, David Maclehose, has taken over the reins of the heritage watchdog from Sandy Bremner.
At the annual meeting held in the Norie-Miller suite at Perth Concert Hall, the outgoing chairman expressed regret that once again the trust’s reflections on the previous 12 months centred on running sores such as St Paul’s Church and the City Hall.
Mr Maclehose said the next year would be key to the future of the trust, as it counts down towards its 50th anniversary in 2017.
Expressing the hope that people will more readily recognise and appreciate built heritage he said: “This is shaping up as one of the most important periods in the history of the civic trust.”
Members were addressed by Magnus Linklater, chairman of Horsecross Arts.
