Legendary commentator Peter Alliss will be guest of honour at the 40th anniversary celebrations for the Lansdowne course at Blairgowrie Golf Club.
Alliss designed the championship course and has accepted an invitation to appear at a July 19 commemorative dinner. He will entertain members with golfing anecdotes and all profits from the £40 a head event will support his favourite charities.
The Perthshire golf club, which hosted the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup, has warned members there may have to be a ballot for in-demand tickets.
Managing secretary Douglas Cleeton said: “We are delighted that Peter has found time in his diary to attend the Lansdowne celebrations.”
