Carrier charges mean bags more fun at Perth school

Staff and pupils at Letham Primary School have taken the wraps off a new garden and play area.

The concrete playground has been developed into a more child-friendly zone as part of a ambitious makeover project.

The scheme was awarded money by Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative, which benefits charities through 5p carrier bag charges.

Nursery teacher Susan Johnstone said: “We strive to provide the best outdoor environment we can for our children.”
