Motorists have been warned to expect more travel disruption with £400,000 resurfacing work planned for the busy A85 between Perth and Crieff.
The latest investment from Transport Scotland will see improvements made to around a mile of the route at Lochty near Almondbank, as well as resurfacing works along a short stretch of the A85 to the West of Burnbrae Garage.
The two sets of works follow on from a recent £440,000 programme of improvements for the Crieff Road on the outskirts of Perth.
Resurfacing at Lochty will be carried out overnight and is due to start on Sunday for two weeks. The improvements will be carried out from 7pm to 7am from Sunday to Thursday, with no works planned on Friday evening or over the weekend.
To ensure the safety of road workers and road users during the works at Lochty, temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while they are ongoing. Traffic management will be removed during the day to keep disruption to a minimum although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.
Resurfacing to the west of Burnbrae Garage will follow on from the work at Lochty and is scheduled to last for three days, between 7am and 7pm. A 10mph convoy system will also be used during working hours to ensure the safety of road workers as well as motorists.
