One man has died following a six-vehicle crash in Perthshire.
Emergency services were called to the A93, near Meikleour, at 7.40am.
An air ambulance was called for but could not attend due to the poor weather. It’s understood two other people have been taken to hospital.
The road has been closed for several hours while investigations take place.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a man has died following a road traffic collision on the A93 Beech Hedge, south of Meikleour this morning.
“The incident happened at 7.40am and involved six vehicles.
“The road will be closed for some time for investigations surrounding the collision to be carried out.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the scene at the request of the ambulance service and cut one casualty from a vehicle.
She said: “We are currently attending a serious RTC on the A93 at Meikleour.
“Four vehicles are involved and one person is trapped in an overturned vehicle. One male has suffered leg injuries. The trauma team is on scene.
“The helicopter ambulance was requested but was unable to attend due to the weather conditions.”
